Induction Day
So, I don't know how many of you out there reading this has ever been induced before. So let me give you a taste of what might happen or at least it did for me.
Oct. 8, 2010 I had another appointment with the doctor to see how much i was dilated and to see if my little angel would be joining me here on earth anytime soon. Of course he's a little stubborn like his mom so he decided that mom had made him the perfect little home and he was just going to stay there. Little did he know mommy’s doctor was going out of town and mommy had already paid her to make the delivery so we set up plans for me to be induced Monday October 11 unless he came before then. However, let me remind you he wasn't coming due to any lack on my part, i had been walking, walking, walking.... in fact i had never been to the mall so much in my life. I went and had a pedicure, i galloped (which hurt like hell) i jumped on the trampoline, i walked on the sidewalk like we did when your kids, you know with one foot on the sidewalk while the other is in the gutter. Trust me I was trying to make him come out early, even when Uncle Wes told me I couldn't so that he could go hunting.
So anyways back on topic... after the doctor’s appointment on the 8th they gave me a paper saying the hospital would call me Monday morning when they were ready for me to come in and instructions on what to expect and how to prepare for that day. The paper said to make sure you get a good night’s sleep the night before. Can i tell you that when you're home pregnant by yourself the night before your induction day yeah you're not sleeping. At least I wasn't. I was worried that I was forgetting something. That i wasn't going to be a good mom, and the fact that I had to do it alone now, because I had been lied to throughout the whole pregnancy that we were a family, but that's another story for a different time.
So I watched 9pm, 10 pm, 11pm and well you get the picture. Soon the hours came and went and I tried to stay busy. I've never been one to just sleep the night before something BIG is about to happen. Why change now? This was going to be the BIGGEST thing that's ever happened to me thus far. I think i finally went to bed around 2 am and then i was up again around 5:30 - 6am.
The hospital called me at 7 minutes after 6 and told me they were ready for me. Good thing my mom and i had plans for her to be there early just in case. She just pulled up when i received the call. I hung up the phone grabbed what i needed to and we drove down to the hospital all during this time I felt great. Nothing changing in my body at all. Turns out even then i was having major contraptions but i wouldn't know it to save my life. In fact after they hooked me up to the monitors and machines I sat there until about 12:30 when they told me they were ready to break my water. I called my dad and informed him where we were at since he had a couple of funerals to go to that day. He said ok and then we hung up. Around 2:30 - 3 i finally said that I couldn't handle the pain anymore and asked for the epidural. The doctor at this point had given me some medicine for anti-nausea so i wouldn't puke. After that I was out like a light and all i remember is sleeping the whole time.
I believe that i will now have to recruit someone else to write the story of the rest of the day because I really don't remember a thing but my dad tickling my feet and then pushing. I will see what I can do about that.
However, at 6:30pm they came in and said that it was time to push. I believe it took me about an hour to figure out how to really do that. All your life you have been taught not to push that hard and now all of a sudden they want you to change, and after you had been sleeping all day. I finally figured it out though and my amazing son Whyatt Charles was born October 11, 2010 @ 8:11pm. If it wasn't for my amazing sister Annesha I don't think I would've gotten through that. When I asked her to stay in the room with me she said "if you swear once I'm leaving” Ladies and Gentlemen mark it on your calendar I made it through delivery without swearing once they whole time.
The people that shared that wonderful day with me was Travis, My Mom, Dad & Step-mom Julie, My Sister Annesha & I believe her husband Mike, Jeannine, Lynn, Shandy, Sara, Wes & Shannon though they all weren't in the room while Whyatt was being delivered. Knowing that they were all there was just good enough for me. If I missed anyone I'm sorry again I don't remember much. My sister said that we should have taped it so they you could see it. But oh well.
I'm pleased to show you the very 1st picture ever of my beautiful baby boy.

My college roommate Erica came down from Logan to spend a few hours with me. I was so excited to see her since she doesn't really like driving my herself though no one can blame her. Plus she just started working on building her first house she it was a huge thing that her hubby let her come down. (Thanks Joey!) He son is such a cutie I can't believe he's getting as big as he is. I just seen them a few months before.
